Homework – due in by Tuesday 25th September
This week in literacy we looked at expanded noun phrases – making objects sound much more interesting. A simple noun phrase (a group of words that make up part of a sentence including the noun) can have adjectives (describing words) added to them to give extra detail. So ‘the house’ can become ‘the bright airy house’ or ‘the dark gloomy house’. ‘A cat’ could become ‘An old, midnight-black cat, with eyes as wide as saucers’.
Your homework this week is to use the following nouns and create at least 10 expanded noun phrases.
