Travel Plan
Our school has been awarded a Bronze Award, from our work on our travel plan. For this we had to:
- Form a working group including pupils and adults
- Carry out surveys and consultation
- Raise awareness about the issues of safety, health and the environment related to travel to school
- Involve the wider community
- Set achievable targets to reduce use of the car
- Link transport and travel to the school curriculum
- Develop a school policy on safer, healthier and more environmentally friendly journeys to school
- Link the School Travel Plan to the School Improvement Plan

The Aims of our School Travel Plan
- To reduce the numbers of cars used for the school journey
- Make the area around school safer by reducing parking outside the school and having a lower speed limit through the village.
- Improving road safety education
- Encourage cycling by providing good facilities and cycle training.
- Helping the environment by making everyone more aware of the need to reduce pollution
- Encouraging good health through walking and cycling.
Safety Rap
More cars cause more pollution
There must be a better solution
Global warming is not nice
Kills the penguins, melts the ice
Hotter summers never ending
Antarctica is never mending
Animals and birds are disappearing
What sort of future will be coming?
It's time for us to make a change
This might sound a little strange
Walking and cycling keeps us fit
And helps us all to do our bit
Thanks to Sue we made this rap
Perhaps next summer, she'll be back
To see how our travel plan is working out
If you agree, give us a shout!
