Pre-School

We are lucky to have our own secure building, outside play area and garden situated in the grounds of Upottery Primary School. The Pre-School building was built over 35 years ago as a result of the generosity and hard work of local people and has been part of the community ever since.

We encourage parents to become involved in the activities at Pre-School and in the progress and development of their children. Parents are welcome to make arrangements to help out during sessions and any practical help is always welcome.

Our staff offer individual care and attention to all the children in a caring and friendly environment where you and your child can play and enjoy the early years of their learning. We welcome children with special needs, and we will endeavour to make appropriate provision for them.

At the end of each Monday session, the children go to Class 1 at Upottery Primary School for a story with the Reception Class. We find this greatly eases the transition from Pre-School to Primary School as the children get to know the teacher, the classroom and the older children long before they enter school.

Children can start on their second birthday. It is not necessary that children are potty-trained.

Session times are:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 9am - 3.30pm

Thursday: 9am - 1pm (children can stay for the whole session or leave at 12 noon or 1pm)

We follow the term dates of Upottery Primary School.
