Gold for Upottery
We have achieved ‘Gold’ for the Sainsbury’s School Games Mark 2016-17! This reflects the fantastic commitment to sport that our pupils, parents and staff show in their PE lessons and extra-curricular activities. It is recognition of our commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive school sport and physical activity. It's a tough set of criteria to meet and only a small percentage of schools are awarded Gold.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents and volunteer drivers who assist with transport to fixtures, run after school clubs and support our children; as without you we would not be able to attend the amount of events that we do and achieve such a high level of success. Well done everyone, let’s keep it up for 2017-18!
What is the School Games Mark?
The School Games Mark is a government led awards scheme launched in 2012 after the London Olympics to reward schools for their commitment to the development of physical activity and competitive sport across their school and into the community.
