Dear Parents/carers
Re-opening of School
As you know, following problems with some of the glazing it was necessary to close the School today. We are pleased that following visits by Devon County staff we have been advised that – subject to certain stipulations – we are able to re-open the school tomorrow, Friday 8thJuly 2016.
Therefore there will be some changes to school routines:
There will be
no access to School from the main entrance door by the field
no access to the lobby area and Wren and Kingfisher toilets by the Hall
no access to the Hall
no access to Wren outside area
no access to the long corridor
no access to Falcon classroom.
At 8.50am the school bell will be rung and children will line up in classes (as they do at the end of playtimes).
Class teachers will then lead children in to School –
Wren and Kingfisher will go through Kingfisher fire door and on into their cloakroom area.
Kestrel and Falcon will go through the old front door with Falcon using the Library as their classroom. Falcon and Kestrel coats,PE bags, etc will need to be taken to their classrooms.
As the Library will be classroom we should be grateful if visits to Mrs Kennell in the office could be kept to a minimum to reduce disruption for these children – with queries made by phone or email whenever possible.
Portaloos (fitted with hand sanitisers) are being sited on the small front playground.
Innovate our caterers will provide school meals as usual.
Staff are discussing plans for possible re-location of our production of ‘The Wind in the Willows’ and we will keep you informed.
A staff briefing will be held before school tomorrow morning and teachers will talk to children about these changes.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me, or Mrs Kennell.
We should like to thank you for your patience and understanding in this situation and to assure you we are all doing our utmost to make the last two weeks of the school year as special as usual.
Yours sincerely,
Anne Hawkins
