Changing Books:
Just a reminder that:
Please write a short comment, or just the date and book title, when your child has read their school book so that their book can be changed.
On the crossover days, when your child may not have a school book, please continue to read and share books you may have at home. Also, have a go at some of the games on Phonics Play or Phonics Bloom, and Year 1 can work on Lexia.
Reception could have a go at the Phase 1 and 2 games.
Year 1 could have a go at the Phase 2 and 3 games to consolidate.
Monday 28th September 2020
Good morning Wrens!
I hope you have had a lovely weekend in the sunshine. This is what we would be doing in school today. Have a look and see what you can do at home.
Across the day we would usually have a short phonics session, a short number session, share a story and have a challenge linked to our Cornerstones Project. The children usually spend the rest of their day learning through play which often includes; building models and talking about them, painting, problem solving with loose parts play, role playing with the small world resources etc.
Please encourage your child to share a book. After looking at the phonics presentation, can they have a go at finding the letter 's' in the text? Below I have also uploaded a video of one of our action stories, 'Mr Wiggle and Mr Waggle'.
The Cornerstones challenge today is to design themselves as a superhero. Would they have a costume? Would they use certain colours? What powers would they have? Can Year 1s have a go at labelling their superhero?
Below you will find some resources for today's phonics and number sessions.
Watch Geraldine the Giraffe find things with the letter 's'. Have you found the same things as Geraldine?
